3 Under 3: Let the Hats Fall

Being a housewife has many hats that we have to keep up with.  Wife and mom, yes.  But there is also… Cook.  Maid.  Entertainer.  Teacher.  Disciplinarian.  Planner.  Organizer.  Accountant.  Gardener.  The list just goes on and on.  And some of us even work part-time or full-time as well!

It can is very overwhelming most days.  Especially when we strive to be the best in every area.  I definitely agree with doing your best and giving it your all.  But at the same time, I wholeheartedly believe in cutting yourself some slack.

There are some days you just have to let all those hats fall.  And go do something fun that you enjoy.  Even if the house is a mess.  Even if the laundry is piled high.  Even if milk is running low.

My favorite thing to do is snuggle with my girls on the floor.  We grab all the pillows we can find, a few blankets, and just snuggle and giggle together.  Maybe pop in a movie and just be together.  Or if they girls are in bed and hubby is home, I like to do an aimless wander around the dollar store or Target.  Or enjoy a really nice hot shower or bath.  Anything where I can relax and not think about all the things I need to be doing.

So go do it.  Let those hats fall.  Here’s how…

Stop and picture everything you are juggling falling to the ground around you.  Then picture yourself stepping over and away from all those hats.  Walk away.  And keep walking.  They will still be there when you come back.  But this time you will be refreshed and ready to put them all back on.  :)
