I used to have beautiful and long hair. Not to brag or anything. But I did. It was long, blonde and very easy to manage! My hair used to air dry straight. Seriously.
Then I got pregnant, got pregnant again, and got pregnant again! All in under 4 years! Well, I guess your hair grows and can thicken a lot when you are pregnant. Then it is supposed to shed all that growth and thickness afterwards.
Maybe it was the 3 kids in under 4 years thing, but my hair hasn’t shedded. At all. My hair is seriously three times thicker than what it used to be. And it’s got a good amount of curl to it!
I don’t know how to manage curly, thick hair!!! Especially with my hair still long!
What do you do when you can’t do anything with your hair, ladies? Throw it in a ponytail!
Well, I am so sick of wearing a ponytail. And I think my hubby probably agrees with me. Even though he’s so sweet and would never tell me that.
So what’s my solution? The one thing I suggest to all tired mommas out there???
GET A HAIR CUT!
Seriously, it’s that simple.
My sister suggested we go to a nearby chain salon. We walked in with no appointment. Had our hair cut by a fabulous woman who was incredibly sweet and did an awesome job with scissors! By the time she was done with my hair, it looked like a small animal had been de-furred on the ground. Not even kidding.
However, I felt revived and rejuvenated afterwards!
It really is amazing what a simple and cheap thing like a hair cut can do to your self-esteem and attitude. I feel beautiful again. (Not that my perception of beauty depends on appearance, though!) And my hair is easy to manage again.
My simple tip to kick off our “Just For Mom” series is to do something simple for yourself and get a hair cut.
