Brylee is 29.5 months and Cambria is 17 months
This week we started out with an ABC box filled with Bb letters and objects beginning with B. Brylee loved this box so much! We used ABC pasta I had found on clearance at a local healthfood store. And just filled with letters and objects we had lying around. I plan to introduce each letter of the week with this box. Thanks, Spell Outloud, for this great idea!
Brylee pulls out each letter in the box and says its name and sound. I try to get her to identify uppercase/big and lowercase/little. Then she puts each letter on our Letter mat from COAH. Then she can pull out each object, say what it is and sound at the beginning. You can see how we attempt this below…

The girls are coloring their “Bee kind” bible verse bumblebees from over at Spell Outloud’s ABC printables. Cami is really getting into coloring and I love watching her when she does. I love how both girls are coloring side by side here.
Here the girls are working on dotting all the balls in their Bb’s from 1+1+1=1 Letter B Tot printables. Cami really just loved dotting everywhere. I love the serious, concentrated faces.
While Cami grows bored of the dotting, Brylee moves onto dotting all the Bb’s in her ball. I tried to focus on getting her to do all the uppercase B’s first and then do the lowercase B’s. She did ok, but she did do a great job saying “Bee….b,b,b,” (name and sound) every time she dotted one.
We did a bean collage in our letter B this week. I squeezed glue inside the B and the girls added small beans (really lentils). They both really loved this activity. (Printable from COAH’s letter B printables or you could just draw a B like I did with Cami.)
This is a cute looking idea but a bit difficult with the girls at their age. The idea comes from Totally Tots. Basically you mix bubble solution with blue food coloring (we used gel since that’s all we had). Then, using a straw, you blow bubbles onto the paper, which then pop creating blue circles on your paper. However, the girls blew too hard into the straw which did not produce any bubbles. I ended up doing most of the bubble-blowing.
Then of course, the girls wanted me to blow regular bubbles for them. Which was lots of fun, especially for Cami. Sadly, I don’t think we had blown bubbles for Cami before this day. Hopefully lots more bubble-blowing days are in our future!
The second part of our letter Bb activity for our ABC book was to glue buttons onto our Bb’s. We chose blue buttons. We then cut out our Bb’s and glued them on blue construction paper, like this over at Totally Tots.
Brylee practices sorting her foam shapes onto the Bb printable from 1+1+1=1. I think the balls inside the shapes distracted her from identifying some of the shapes. Especially with circles… she wanted to put the small foam circles on top of every ball in each shape.
Hubby was given money to get an iPad for his birthday and Christmas (which are in the same week for him) the end of last year. Well, we finally just purchased one and I must say, I love using it with the girls! Here we are watching The B Song which was pretty catchy and cute!
Brylee did some big building with her blocks this week.
This girl LOVES to build tall towers and will even use her step stool to get them super high.
Girls working on their outside play vocabulary words from 1+1+1=1 Letter B printables. Brylee does such a great job of pointing out each object and saying the word for Cami.
The girls do more exploring of their Spring sensory bin, which had some more items added. I love Cami’s thinking face! (To see the purpose of our Sensory bins, check out my latest article!)
The girls learn to help Mommy by practicing filling up the dog bowl with food and giving it to Peaches, our mini Dachshund. They did a surprisingly great job with minimal mess!
I didn’t get to focus as much on Tot School with the girls as I wanted to this week, but I did get some more accomplished off my to-do list for this month in hopes to be ready for little Hayleigh. Due in less than a month!!!

I’m squealing over the cloth diapers! My boys potty train so early (around 15 months) and I miss those diaper stages. Not that it’s bad to be out of diapers so soon I just miss watching those colorful little bottoms running around the house!
I do love their cloth diaper booties too.
oh my goodness, how do you potty train so young? I feel so lost with the whole potty training thing!
Chloe potty trained at 18 months but John is 31 months and still no luck, though I briefly tried with him.
That goes for so many things doesn’t it?
I had hoped to have him trained by the time baby 3 comes next month but it just wasn’t working. I think each child is different.
When they graduate high school, no one will care what age they trained at
Lol that is so very true! I will have three in diapers when this one comes soon but probably not for too long. My 30 month old shows more readiness than she did last week so it’s a good sign! Thanks for the encouragement!! And for stopping by!
LOVE the B sensory box- will definitely have to keep it in mind.
I think them helping to feed the dog is also very cute.
Good luck with the last stretch of your pregnancy!
Thank you!! The more pregnant I become the more things I think of that the girls could help me with.
they are both going to be such great big sisters!
Love all the pics! I will have to get some of those dot dabbers. I’ve seen them around “tot school” a lot. We’ve never tried them but I bet they’d be a HUGE hit!
I just saw some generic ones at the dollar tree this week. We found ours barely used at a garage sale. The girls do love them!
